What is a FEEL® session (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning)?

A FEEL® session is a ground-based, non-riding horse-guided experience where teens and individuals build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence by interacting with intuitive horses. Sessions are safe, reflective, and facilitated by certified professionals.

Are horse sessions at Spirited Hooves therapeutic or clinical?

Spirited Hooves is not a therapy clinic and does not provide diagnoses. However, many parents and teens, individuals report beneficial outcomes such as reduced anxiety, increased self-trust, and improved emotional regulation through equine experiential learning.

Do Spirited Hooves sessions involve horseback riding?

What should my teen wear or bring to their first session?
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots

  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes

  • A water bottle

  • Optional: journal
    Snacks are provided for workshops. Please bring a lunch for full-day events.

How long are equine sessions for teens?
  • Private sessions: 60–90 minutes

  • Group workshops: 3–6 hours, depending on format

Can I attend the session with my teen?

To ensure your teen feels fully free to connect and reflect, we ask that parents do not attend the session itself. You are welcome to join for pre- or post-session check-ins.
